What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) is a widely used and accepted method of verifying a user’s identity when logging into an account.
By enabling 2FA, an additional layer of security is added, as two steps are required to verify the user’s identity:
• Entering the username and password.
• Entering an additional code that is shared only with the authorized user who has access to the account, via SMS, email, or a certified authentication app. The mymodulus platform supports 2FA activation through an authentication app, which can be enabled by following the instructions below.
Why is it important to enable 2FA for my modulus?
Your mymodulus account is essential for the operation of your services. Through it, you have access to sensitive functions and information, such as enabling call forwarding or viewing part of your call history.
By enabling 2FA for your m ymodulus account, each time you log in, you will receive a one-time code on your mobile device via the authentication app installed on your smartphone (see below for “Activating 2FA for my modulus”).
This ensures that even if your login credentials are compromised, access to your account remains restricted to you, providing maximum security.
Activating 2FA for mymodulus
To start the 2FA activation process, you will need a smartphone and an authentication app capable of generating TOTP (time-based one-time password) codes.
You may choose any app that supports account setup via QR code and can generate TOTP codes.
If you are not already using such an app, we recommend Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, both available for free on Google Play (Android) and the App Store (iOS/iPadOS).
Log in to your mymodulus account using your personal credentials.

Once logged in, in the top right corner of the homepage, select the user icon and then choose “Settings” from the menu that appears.

On the next page, select “Enable 2FA”.

By selecting this option, instructions on how to activate the 2FA process will be displayed on your screen.

At this point, the first step is to open the authentication app (Authenticator app) installed on your mobile device and follow the simple instructions (which may vary slightly depending on the app you are using) to enable your phone’s camera and scan the QR code displayed on your screen.

The authentication app on your mobile device will automatically store your account username and display a 6-digit code on your screen, which you will need to enter in the field corresponding to Step 2, then click the “Enable” button.

Note: The TOTP (time-based one-time password) generated by the authentication app is refreshed at regular intervals, approximately every 30 seconds (depending on the settings of the authenticator app you are using).
Once you have successfully entered the TOTP code in Step 2 above, the next screen will display your one-time backup security codes. These codes can be used in case you lose access to your authentication app (e.g., due to loss of or no access to your mobile device).
You should copy and paste these codes into a file (e.g., Notepad, Word, Excel) and store it in a secure location (NOT in the same place as your account credentials such as username and password), and then click “Agree”.

The 2FA security feature has now been successfully enabled!
The my.modulus.gr platform will automatically log you out, and from now on, each time you attempt to log in, you will be asked, in the first step, to enter your username and password, and in the second step, a one-time TOTP code, which is generated every time (approximately every 30 seconds) via the authenticator app installed on your mobile device.
Loss of access to the Authenticator App
In case you lose access to your authentication app, instead of entering the one-time code generated by the app, click on the option “I lost access to the authentication app”.

On the next screen, enter one of your backup security codes that were generated during the 2FA activation process and that you were asked to store in a safe place.
Click “Continue”, and you will successfully log in to the my.modulus.gr platform.

Note: Each backup security code can be used only once and becomes invalid after use.
After logging in using a backup code, you can restore the functionality by disabling the 2FA mechanism from the my.modulus.gr settings and then re-enabling it by following the same steps as above.
